shutterstock_431563396We know that taking that first big step in your career really matters. By choosing our graduate trainee scheme you’ll be off to a fantastic start. Here, we look at the great learning opportunities our scheme has to offer.

Our graduate trainee scheme is all about learning and development. We believe that what really sets us apart from others is the huge diversity of experience you’ll learn from. We work with communities and business industries to champion the environment and safeguard its future for the people of Scotland. This means you’ll get involved in everything from engaging on site with our customers, to influencing industry leads at boardroom level, to closing the deal on commercial projects.

You’ll develop strong leadership capability through working with teams of passionate and highly skilled people on a diverse range of live projects and assignments. You will be supported throughout with one-to-one coaching, a dedicated mentor and a team of appraisers.

As well as developing your technical skills and knowledge through on the job experience and specialist training, you’ll also be able to take advantage of our in-house group workshops to support your personal development. These highly interactive events are designed to supercharge your communication and leadership skills.

When you join us, you and the other successful applicants will enjoy a tailor made induction. This will kick off with our ‘Welcome’ event at our flagship office where you’ll meet our Chief Executive, Terry A’Hearn and learn about SEPA’s ambition. You’ll attend a series of other group workshops, including ones on personal leadership and writing in plain English. You’ll meet people from your personal support team, including your assigned mentor before beginning your first of four exciting and challenging rotations in one of our major areas of the organisation.

If we sound like the kind of organisation you want to start your career with, why not apply?

Further information about the scheme can be found on our website. The closing date for applications is Friday 24 March 2017 at midday.
